The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate MRI Medical Imaging Technologist to join our client’s Radiology Department. In this role, you will perform advanced MRI scans, ensure patient safety, and contribute to accurate diagnoses while upholding the highest standards of care within New Zealand’s health system. 

Key Responsibilities

• Operate MRI equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images.

• Prepare and position patients for scans, ensuring comfort and safety.

• Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare teams to interpret imaging needs.

• Maintain and calibrate MRI equipment, adhering to safety protocols.

• Document procedures and patient interactions accurately in line with NZ health standards.

• Stay current with advancements in MRI technology and techniques.

Requirements

• Post graduate qualification in MRI.

• Registration with the New Zealand Medical Radiation Technologists Board (MRTB) as an MRI Medical Imaging Technologist.

• Annual Practising Certificate (APC) or eligibility to obtain one.

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in MRI imaging preferred.

• Strong knowledge of MRI safety standards and procedures.

• Excellent communication and patient care skills, with a focus on cultural competency.

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
