Radiologist

We are a leading medical recruitment agency across Australia and New Zealand, and our newest opportunity available is for a Radiologist to be based in Auckland.

The client

Our client is a major public hospital within Auckland’s regional health network, providing high-complexity acute and elective services to one of the fastest-growing populations in New Zealand. The hospital is home to a fully accredited Radiology Department equipped with MRI, CT, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, mammography, and interventional suites. The service is known for its strong clinical governance, multidisciplinary collaboration, and focus on delivering safe, equitable imaging services across diverse patient communities.

The opportunity

You will join a well-supported radiology team offering a broad scope of practice, including general diagnostic reporting, cross-sectional imaging, and the option to be involved in subspecialty areas based on your interest. The role offers a balanced mix of clinical reporting, MDT involvement, and opportunities to contribute to training junior doctors and registrars. With strong demand across the department, this is an excellent opportunity for a radiologist seeking stability, career growth, and exposure to a wide range of clinical presentations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high-quality diagnostic reporting across general and cross-sectional modalities

• Participate in MDT meetings and contribute to collaborative patient care

• Perform image-guided procedures (if within scope)

• Support registrar training, supervision, and clinical teaching

• Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with imaging standards

• Contribute to departmental audits, quality improvement, and service development

• Work collaboratively with radiographers, nurses, and wider clinical teams

• Participate in an on-call roster as required

Requirements

• Vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (or eligibility to obtain)

• FRANZCR (or equivalent qualification recognised by MCNZ)

• Broad experience across general radiology and cross-sectional imaging

• Strong communication skills and a patient-centred approach

• Commitment to teamwork, teaching, and continuous service improvement

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced public hospital environment
